Meet the team

Flutterby has been producing theatre for three years. Our founding members Ruth Stokes, Rosamund Hine and Caroline Dean, work as co-collaborators and performers, producing shows and stories together. They were drawn together after discovering their shared passion for devised outdoor theatre alongside their experience working with children; this culminated in the creation of their debut show, Rory and the Sun Thief 2012.

Ruth Stokes –Artistic Director, Puppet and Set designer and Performer

Ruth formed Flutterby Theatre in 2012 alongside Rosamund Hine, Caroline Dean and Suzanne Booth and together they created the story of Rory and the Sun Thief. Ruth’s role enables her combine her love of producing imaginative theatre, and her passion for designing and creating puppets.

As well as having a degree in Performing Arts, Ruth is TEFL trained and has worked with young people in the UK, Italy and in India, teaching English, as well as facilitating drama and creative workshops and also performance.

Caroline Dean –Early Years Drama Specialist, Workshop Creator and Performer

As our Early Years Drama Specialist Caroline tailor-makes workshops for our audiences. Having several years experience in the T.I.E. sector Caroline keeps us on track with our target audience.

Caroline is an experienced workshop facilitator and actress and has worked with a wide variety of theatre and education companies across the UK.

Rosamund Hine – Musical Director and Performer

Rosamund trained in Acting at The Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre and is one of the founding members of Flutterby Theatre. She plays a wide range of instruments and composes original music and song for the company, taking influences from traditional and contemporary folk music.

Based in London, Rosamund works as an actor, musician and a teaching assistant, specialising in working with young children with learning difficulties.

Alex Evans – Multimedia and Online Marketing Coordinator

Alex is an experienced videographer and editor and has joined us throughout the process to document our journey. He also helps make the website look snazzy.

Suzanne Booth – Associate Artist and Company Advisor

Suzanne helped to form Flutterby with the other company members in 2012, aiding the textual structure of Rory and the Sun Thief as well as acting as dramaturge for the first research and development phase. She also advises the team in terms of company management, structure and business Suzanne has worked as a festival producer, theatre producer and dramaturge in both Bristol and London. She is about to embark on a Masters degree course at Central School of Speech and Drama, but her role as associate artist means that she pops up from time to time with ideas (or just for a cup of tea at Flutterby HQ).
